We’d like to share an industry update for all mental health nurses as the Victorian public sector Mental Health EBA continues to progress. Discussions remain active between ANMF, HACSU, the Victorian Government, and other key parties.
Recently, an updated offer was received that includes several notable developments:
🔹 Improved timings for wage increases, helping address the gap between general and mental health nursing rates
🔹 A proposed three-tiered NUM structure, aligning with the general public sector nurse manager framework
🔹 An updated wages and allowances schedule, which ANMF is currently reviewing
This offer is not yet final, but it marks an encouraging step in the negotiation process. ANMF will soon provide further updates and host member info sessions to explain the proposed conditions and respond to questions.
It’s also timely to reflect on the recent milestone for general nurses, where 99.5% voted YES to the 2024–28 EBA — a strong example of collective outcomes through unified advocacy.
👀 To support transparency, we’ve also broken down the general nurse hourly pay rates in a simple table for easy comparison and reference.

Stay informed — and stay engaged.
